In the past, I’ve compared my YouTube channel to a scrapbook of favorite things, and that is certainly the case with my Disney World vlogs! Part of the fun of scrapbooking is that you get to relive a vacation well after it’s past. In reviewing my photos and video footage months after it was captured, I remember fun moments that I had totally forgotten in the intervening time.
That’s part of the reason I’m never in a rush to edit my Disney trip vlogs. While I’m on the trip and right after the trip, the experience is still fresh in my mind. It’s when I’m sitting at my computer on a December day - wearing several layers of sweaters and socks to keep warm - that I can look back on a sweltering July day in the parks with pleasure and wish I could transfer a little of that summer Florida sunshine into the middle of winter!
I did share a quick written trip report right after we got back from our Disney jaunt this past summer, but the vlog episodes I’ve been posting about once a month. In case you missed any of them, I thought I’d collect all the installments in the 2022 trip series here!
I’ve had a number of fun bookish chats with Belle in World Showcase over the years, but this was one of my favorites! We’ll have to stop by the Beast’s Castle for a meeting of the Bookish Kingdom Book Club some time…after all, she invited us!
Another memory from the trip that had faded from my mind - the next-level hammocks on the beach at Coronado Springs! I have tried searching the Internet to price them out, just out of curiousity. 😉 I’m guessing they’d be considered “pillowtop” hammocks, but I haven’t found anything nearly as nice available online. I wonder if they were custom-made for Gran Destino!
Day three of our six-day trip was a very hot and crowded day at the Magic Kingdom, but, gosh, weren’t those blue skies perfect? And so was that Aloha Isle drink, even if it started melting almost instantaneously. 😂
We did stay at the Grand Floridian’s Royal Palm Club level for just one night, so of course we spent most of that day just hanging out, strolling the grounds, enjoying the lobby, and, of course, snacking on the club food!
It’s always so hard for us to decide whether to spend the limited budget of trip time at the parks and resorts, because we love them both so much! We tore ourselves away from the Grand Floridian for a little fun at Galaxy’s Edge before resort hopping to Riverside.
The fifth and final Disney resort of the trip (as the bookish kingdom knows, we are addicted to resort hopping 😂) was Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. I hadn’t seen photos of the new room redesign so I saw it for the first time in person, and I thought it was charming! We also headed over to the Magic Kingdom for some rides and park fun.
The last evening and morning of the trip were spent chilling and soaking in the Old Faithful Club Level at the Wilderness Lodge. It’s been so fun to look back on last summer’s Disney jaunt - thank you for coming along for the ride!
